Motion / Spinner Rings, Care and Cleaning
Your ring is very easy
to clean by following a few simple guidelines. To keep your ring moving freely,
we recommend cleaning on a regular basis. Your ring will not spin as freely once
the bearing mechanism becomes dirty.
1.For home cleaning, soak motion jewelry in a solution of 1 part 'Mr. Clean'
(non-ammonia formula) to 1 part water for about 30 minutes. Soaking your ring
overnight in this solution is fine if that is more convenient.
2.Follow by rinsing your ring thoroughly under cool running water. The ring will
not spin freely again until completely dry. A blow dryer may be used for faster
results.
DO NOT USE AMMONIA,
JEWELRY CLEANER CONTAINING AMMONIA, BLEACH, OR ANY OTHER SUBSTANCE THAT CONTAINS
AMMONIA OR BLEACH TO CLEAN YOUR MOTION JEWELRY.
Even though Motion
Rings are made with precision stainless steel ball bearings, the use of ammonia,
jewelry cleaner containing ammonia, or bleach can damage the ball bearings.
Ocean and Sea water will
corrode and destroy the steel ball bearings. DO NOT wear your motion ring near
the ocean or sea, and avoid salt water mist.
Precautions
To keep your ring spinning freely, we
recommend that you avoid contact with the following:
- Mousse
- Glue
- Hand Lotion
- Hand Soap (we recommend removing your ring before washing hands)
- Fuzzy Clothing
Put your rings on
AFTER getting completely dressed.
Hair spray, hand lotion, and hand soap
can all act like 'glue' if allowed to dry around the bearing. This will slow
down or even 'lock-up' the movement of your ring.
While wearing motion jewelry avoid wearing exceptionally fuzzy sweaters
and clothing. The tiny fibers can become entangled around the bearing and
eventually it can require factory disassembly to remove the fibers.
The bearings are meant to 'run dry'. This means that they do not require oil of
any kind. The oil can act as a 'magnet' and attract dirt into the ball bearing.
Dirt and grit prevent the ring from spinning freely, and wearing your ring while
dirty can shorten the life of the ball bearings.
Service and Repairs
Repairs and service, other than routine
cleaning, should be carried out at our factories in order to maintain the
integrity of your ring and protect your warranty.
If your ring requires service, repair, or sizing, we strongly urge you to return
your ring to the original place of purchase.
