When you contribute to the Jewelers For Children fund your generosity benefits children with catastrophic diseases.

Jewelers For Children (JFC) is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization created by the jewelry and diamond industry with the mission of raising money for charities that benefit children. Since 1999, more than $28 million has been invested in special programs to reach children whose lives have been devastated either by catastrophic illness or life-threatening abuse and neglect.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  It is the largest wish-granting charity in the world.  In October 2006, the Wish A State program was made available to Make-A-Wish® chapters with funding for 150 wishes. Chapters were provided with materials to help them facilitate local events and to help promote the program in their local markets.

Working with Make-A-Wish Foundation International, JFC continues its work in India to reach out to 5,000 children who are living there with life-threatening illnesses.

Mary      The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation creates a future of hope for children and families worldwide by eradicating pediatric AIDS, providing care and treatment to people with HIV/AIDS, and accelerating the discovery of new treatments for other serious and life-threatening pediatric illnesses.  Through JFC’s support of the Foundation and the Glaser Pediatric Research Network, cutting-edge clinical research, training and advocacy programs are bringing hope to children of this and future generations.  Additionally, programs funded by JFC have been implemented in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola to help prevent the transmission of the HIV virus from mother-to-child.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is an internationally recognized biomedical research center dedicated to finding cures for catastrophic diseases of childhood.  Research protocols are shared internationally and families without insurance are never asked to pay.  Six hundred children have received bone marrow transplants since JFC endowed the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic at St. Jude.  Additionally, JFC has funded the Bone Marrow Transplantation Laboratory and is currently working to fulfill a  pledge to endow a chair in Genetics and Gene Therapy.

National CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) represents more than 70,000 local community volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.  With a CASA volunteer by their side, these vulnerable children are far more likely to find the services they need, including a safe, nurturing home where they can thrive.  The JCF Champions for Abused Children initiative will be implemented throughout the coming year to bring hope and dramatically change the lives of more than 25,000 children.

Jewelers’ participation in JFC helps children from as close by as their local community—to as far away as around the world. For further information on the Jewelers For Children visit their website.
